"Thank goodness we found this hidden little gem. We were a group of 6 and booked the top floor suite which comprised of 3 fabulously designed bedrooms, a gorgeous lounge, fully functional kitchen and fantastic bathroom. I could have moved in! The views from the lounge window were truly stunning.

The staff on arrival were wonderful and very accommodating. This is a traditional local pub and restaurant so we had everything we needed for our 2 nights. The food is nothing short of exceptional and the bar was suitably stocked for our group! We were made to feel very welcome and very much part of the “family”. It was truly superb and I hope at some point we get a chance to return.”

“Fantastic stay with The Grapes hotel! We were instantly welcome and made to feel at home by the lovely hotel manager Andrew. The parking on site is easy to find, close to the hotel and safe. The rooms were lovely very cosy, clean with lots of lovely condiments! The food at the hotel was excellent, portions are huge and it’s a great pub menu! The staff were all super friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. We were missing breakfast one day due to walking Snowdon and they prepared us all with packed lunches. Would definitely come back! Thank you for a lovely stay.”

“After a couple of aborted reservations we finally experienced hospitality at the Grapes. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay with both evening and breakfast meals being to our absolute satisfaction.
The proprietor sticks by some pretty firm principles and values and appeared to have an excellent team around him that strive to please. Due to it's popularity, booking well in advance is advised and as Kevin has pointed out, he'd love to have far more parking spaces on site. Our room was spotlessly clean as was the bedding with plenty of tea & coffee at hand.
We are looking forward to another stay before 2025 is out and will be recommending the Grapes to friends & family as it's only c 80 mins away.”

“We spent a week in Maentwrog, using it as a base to explore Snowdonia and had several dinners and a few post “expedition“ beers in The Grapes. Big outside areas, with sun and shade to sit in, dog friendly and mountain views! The Grapes was incredibly busy every night of the week (booking is advised) and despite being run off their feet the service from every member of staff was fantastic. I was concerned that it was a big menu and might be low end but we had 8 different dishes during the week and they were all good, huge portions, some excellent, some just decent pub food but we kept going back which I think must be a good measure!”

“Welcoming & friendly staff, fantastic service, yummy food and lots of it. Very good value for money. This is a great base for Snowdon which is approx 40 min drive from The Grapes. We used the park and ride at Nant Paris, & bus to Pen y Pass took 10 mins if that, and very easy to navigate. You will save money this way rather than parking at the official car parks.

Excellent stay in the cottage apartment, we couldn’t fault it! We look forward to coming back next time!”

“Excellent food, Excellent service. We came for dinner on a busy Friday night. I had the lamb shank and my wife had the steak and ale pie. Beautiful home cooked food. Something that a lot of pubs/restaurants are missing these days and cut corner. There were no cutting corners here! We will definitely be back. (Staff were fantastic and very hard working)”
